I’m Marissa — a wedding day coordinator with a deep love for love itself.

I’m calm, easygoing & someone who truly loves helping couples feel supported every step of the way. My approach is simple – stay organized, keep things stress-free, & make sure you can fully enjoy your best day ever.

I am based in Grand Rapids, Michigan but I would love to travel all through the state to help couples at the venue(s) of their choosing! I spent some time living right outside of Detroit, so I really love & miss the east side.

I have been working alongside my Mother in Law as a coordinator and office manager at her barn venue for the last four years. She is one of the best venue owners in the industry. I am getting one on one guidance & knowledge straight from her. I will continue working at her gorgeous venue, while also exploring new venues and locations under my own business, Joyful Moments by Marissa. My Mother in Law has opened up my mind & shown me just how passionate I am about wedding day-of coordination. I treat each & every wedding as if it were my own. I want all of my couples to have their best day ever!

I know how meaningful (and sometimes beautifully chaotic) life’s biggest moments can be. At home, I am a wife, mom to two young boys, and fur mama to two cats and a puppy. Our life is lively, which has definitely strengthened my patience, flexibility and ability to go with the flow.

Outside of weddings, I’m a bit of a foodie, coffee lover and enjoy unwinding with video games and movies – so whether we’re talking timelines or late-night snack ideas, I’m always here for it.

My goal is to make your day feel joyful, smooth and completely you.

Working with Joyful Moments by Marissa felt like partnering with a friend rather than just hiring a planner. From our first conversation, she was quick to respond to every question and gave us thoughtful advice that made the planning process feel manageable instead of overwhelming. On our wedding day, when a medical emergency happened, Marissa and her team handled it with such grace that our guests barely noticed anything was off-everything kept flowing perfectly. She managed every detail with us, whether it was coordinating with vendors, setting up the bar order or making sure the ceremony ran exactly as we imagined. We got so close to Marissa throughout the planning that saying goodbye after the wedding actually felt like a breakup! lol Honestly, we can't recommend her enough.

Words truly can't describe how fitting the name "Joyful Moments by Marissa" is. We originally hired Marissa as our day-of coordinator for the reception, but from the start she was willing to do so much more. She was there for our rehearsal, helped organize our ceremony, decorated the reception space, and constantly went above and beyond anything we expected. What really amazed us was when our original reception venue unexpectedly closed just a few weeks before our wedding. Marissa immediately jumped in and helped us find a new venue that fit both our vision and our budget. In a moment that felt incredibly stressful, she made us feel completely supported. Marissa has such a laid-back, calming presence, which made the entire process so much more enjoyable. No matter what came up, she made everything feel manageable and kept us focused on celebrating our day. Not only did we feel special, but our guests did too. We received so many compliments about how beautiful everything was and how authentically "us" the day felt. Thank you, Marissa, for helping us fully embrace our culture, our family, and our friends throughout the entire process. Before hiring Marissa, we prayed for a guardian angel to help guide us through wedding planning, and that's exactly what we got. We truly can't recommend her enough.
